Giving
It pays for the running. It buys you nothing.
Ardent Word has no advertisements, no in-app purchases, no subscription and no paid tier. Giving is the only income, and it is not a transaction. You are paying for somebody else to have what you already have.
The donation flow goes live alongside the first public release.

Where it goes
What a month actually costs
These are real figures from the cost model, not a range invented for a page. They are produced by a script, so when the assumptions change the numbers change with them.
Answering questions
About 1.6 United States cents per answer from Emmaus, on average. Roughly one question in ten costs nothing at all, because a direct verse lookup needs no model.Servers and storage
The database, the backend, the media, and the backups that make a bad day an inconvenience rather than a loss. The recorded voice
A studio voice for the whole Bible is recorded once and then costs nothing to give away. It is the clearest example of what giving buys: something for everybody, permanently.

The promise
What a donation will never do
- Unlock a feature, because no feature is locked.
- Remove an advertisement, because there are none.
- Raise a limit, because there are no limits.
- Move you up a queue, because there is no queue.
- Change a single thing about the app you are holding.
Every person who opens Ardent Word gets the same app, whether they have given nothing or given every month for a decade. That is not a launch promise with a quiet expiry date on it. It is the reason a foundation is building this instead of a company.
So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
If giving is not something you can do right now, that is genuinely fine, and nothing about your app will be different from anyone else’s. Tell somebody about it instead.
