Support

Getting help, and reaching a person

A person reads every message sent to support. Not a queue, not a bot with a cheerful name. If something in Ardent Word is broken, unfair or frightening, this is how you reach someone about it.

Contact channels open with the first release

If someone is in danger right now

Contact your local emergency services. Ardent Word is not a crisis service, nobody watches it as it happens, and we cannot send help to anyone or contact someone on your behalf.

Get help in the app menu and in Settings shows the verified services listed for your country. It works with no connection, it is two taps from anywhere in the app, and it does not require you to type anything or to post anything.

If you are worried about a child, contact your local police or child protection service, and see the child safety page.

How to reach us

From the app

Settings, then Support. Sending from the app attaches your app version and device model, which usually saves a round of questions. It never attaches your journal, your prayer requests or your Emmaus conversations.

From this website

A contact form opens here with the first release. Until then, the Foundation can be reached through Ardent Africa Foundation.

What to expect

  1. A person reads it.
  2. We aim to answer within three working days.
  3. We will not ask you for your password, a PIN or a one-time code. Nobody from Ardent Word will ever ask you for those. If a message claims to be from us and asks, it is not from us.

Reporting something in the community

Every prayer request, post, response, group, profile and image has a Report action. You do not need to be sure, and you will never be in trouble for reporting something that turns out to be fine. The person you report is never told who reported them.

If a decision went against you, the notice we sent contains an Appeal link. The full process is in the community standards.

Your account, your data

Export what you have written

Settings, then Your data, then Export. You get your notes, highlights, journal, plans and conversations in a portable format. No request, no waiting on us.

Delete your account

Settings, then Your data, then Delete account. You can also delete it from this website without the app installed, verified by a code sent to your email address, which is required by Google Play and is simply right.

Deletion is real. Your content is removed and backups age out on their normal cycle. We keep only what the law requires us to keep: financial records for gifts, and child safety reports.

Withdraw a consent

Anything you agreed to can be withdrawn in Settings. Withdrawing a consent turns off the feature it relates to rather than closing your account.

Things people ask

Is it really free?

Yes, permanently. No advertisements, no in-app purchases, no subscription, no paid tier. Giving is voluntary and unlocks nothing, because nothing is locked.

Why do I need an account to read?

You do not. Reading, search, highlights, notes, plans and the help card all work without signing in and without a connection. An account is needed only to sync between devices and to take part in the community.

Can I use it with no data?

Yes. Three translations are inside the app when you install it. Asking Emmaus, the community, giving and syncing need a connection; the rest does not.

Emmaus said something wrong

Please report it from the answer itself. Emmaus cannot invent a verse, because every verse it shows is read from the copy of the Bible on your device, but everything else it says is its best effort and can be wrong. Reports are read.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If a gift was made in error or you did not intend it, write to us and we will refund it. We would rather return money than keep money somebody did not mean to give.

I think I found a security problem

Please tell us before you tell anyone else, and we will work with you. A security contact address and disclosure policy are published with the first release.
